It's Time For a Mediterranean Cruise

Miriam is searching for Zoe, the young woman who disappeared in “The Betrothal”, my short story published in the February, 2025 issue of Black Sheep: Unique Tales of Terror and Wonder. Miriam had all but given up finding Zoe when she encounters Doris in Zenon’s café. But despite her fat-encircled eyes and a face stamped with a map of rivers, Doris gives Miriam a reliable clue, in part because her husband had been a sailor.
Doris tells Miriam:
The girl didn’t say when she planned to sail. A’ course, anything can delay a departure, from a sneeze on the gangplank to a magpie perched on the riggin’. And ya know, the number of ships don’t peak ’til late May. So yeah, she didn’t say when, but she definitely mentioned it couldn’t be soon enough.
What starts out in “The Betrothal” as the disappearance of a young woman turns into a shocking murder in a sleazy waterfront inn. Will Zoe’s alibi hold water? In any case, treat yourself to a Mediterranean cruise with Miriam while the sailing season is still open. Just click here.
